September Breakfast Meeting (9/18/18) – Successfully Leading a Franchise Brand Turnaround

David McDougall is the CEO of Franintell, Inc., providing C level expertise & solutions to emerging and midsized companies that require assistance in establishing a franchise system and/or fix problems that have emerged within the current business model. Areas of focus include franchise development, international expansion, operations optimization, finance and capital formation.

Dave most recently was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Back Yard Burgers, Inc., a better burger restaurant company based in Nashville, TN. After joining the company in 2013, McDougall led the successful turnaround of the brand through improved financial performance, franchise relations and return to the brands roots, “great tasting food.” This in turn led to the company attracting a new owner and the sale of the company in July of 2017. Dave’s background includes more than 35 years of food and franchise leadership specializing in operations, development and international business.
